Today was our 9-month check-up with Dr. Doug. No shots needed at 9-months, but it is the visit to check the iron count in the blood. The nurse sat the wee one on my lap and asked me to hold her arm at the elbow. I braced myself for the finger prick, but there was absolutely no sound at all. Instead, the wee one stared curiously as the nurse squeezed blood from her finger to fill the small iron test vile. The iron count was normal, but I'm not sure there has ever been a better baby to grace the earth.
The Wide-Eyed Wonderer is 13 pounds 13 ounces and is 27 1/2 inches long, which puts her in the 3rd percentile for weight and the 69th for length. Dr. Doug said she is tall and skinny, but is healthy and growing normally.
Tall and skinny = America's Next Top Model!
